WILLIAM J. HUGHES CENTER FOR PUBLIC POLICY

Educating others in public policy matters by holding educational seminars in the field of public policy, sponsoring panel discussions, performing educational surveys on political and social topics, organizing educational research on public policy and economic issues facing Southern New Jersey; providing a learning forum for and promoting public discussion in the nature of panel discussions of policy issues to engage citizens and policy makers on educational subjects such as issues of energy use, sustainability, challenges in New Jersey's political process, sponsoring seminars on small business use of solar power and civility in government to encourage civic engagement by others and to strengthen the voice of Southern New Jersey in public debate; sponsoring educational research projects designed to educate New Jersey residents and policy makers about community environmental resources, community development, and citizen engagement by incorporating the expertise of professional educators in public policy issues in collaboration with members of the Hughes Center to inspire citizen engagement and their effective participation in public policy matters; conducting special events for educational purposes and the publication of articles related to public policy education
