The mark "WE/ME" both identifies Paul Quinn College, and its institutional ethos. The mission of the College is to provide a quality, faith-based education that address the academic, social, and Christian development of students and prepares them to be servant leaders and agents of change in the global marketplace. The Institutional Ethos of the College, as set forth in its webpage is thus: "Our ethos is simple: WE Over Me. Forged through times of struggle and strife, our students make the world a better place by centering on this: The needs of the community supersede the wants of the individual". For this reason, the WE is over the Me in the Trademark/logo, It is distinctive both in its design and use of purple, the College's. Its institutional ethos and the concept behind the words "WE" and "ME" to stress that the individual student and Paul Quinn both help its students and graduates make the world a better place. In other words, Paul Quinn is dedicated in going beyond just the individual to a community, be it the other students, the College educational staff and the needs of the community over the wants of the individual (thus the WE/ME).
