Vehicle data acquisition system comprised of on-vehicle components and an off-vehicle personal computer, the on-vehicle components comprising a central processing unit, a control module, a pressure sensor module, an accelerometer and thermocouples, for use on motor vehicles to record and store vehicle performance information from a series of vehicle sensors and to provide the information to off-vehicle systems for analysis and archiving; vehicle sensors for measuring vehicle performance; and software for collecting, archiving and manipulating vehicle performance information
