"The Monkey Wrench Tool Co". is developing a Patent Pending device intended to be sold into the Plumbing Industry for the purposes of enabling Plumbing Contractors to Solder copper pipe fittings rapidly, effectively and safely. Current commercial product offerings intended to assist Plumbers in the Soldering of Copper joints are of two types: 1. Heat Protective Mats. Typically constructed of high temperature resistant High Density Glass Fiber or Carbon Felt materials. These products are heat and flame resistant and are positioned behind the area to be soldered in order to protect surrounding surfaces from the exposed flame of a blow-torch. In reducing the risk of Fire, the primary purpose here is Fire Safety. 2. Heat Absorbing Gels. These products are heat and flame resistant and are sprayed onto surfaces behind the area to be soldered in order to protect surrounding surfaces from the exposed flame of a blow-torch. "Clip and Solder" device consists of a Polished, Curved Aluminum Reflective Shield to reflect Blow-Torch heat back to the rear of the pipes being soldered, thereby enabling faster and more thorough soldered joints.
