Association services, namely, promoting the public interest and awareness in cancer research and education; Promoting public interest and awareness of Latinos with cancer. Was presidentially appointed (2023-Biden) to the National Cancer Advisory Board ( NCI), where Latino concerns are shared; presented to the Latino Congressional Caucus (2024) on Latino cancer issues and systemic barriers; keynoted at the American Association of Cancer Researchers (AACR) Baltimore Disparities Conference (2025); currently serves on the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), a taxpayer funded stem cell agency as a patient advocate.; Promoting collaboration within the scientific, research and provider communities to achieve advances in the field of cancer risk, diagnostics and treatment. To that end, TLCI is engaged in research with Stanford University's School of Medicine (liver disease study); UCSF and UC Davis (developing and deploying a breast cancer hereditary toolkit with FQHC's), Georgetown (psychosocial support for breast cancer patients and their caregivers increasing patient quality care experience); Duke University (AI); a community engagement project with the Universities of New Mexico and Iowa.
