computer program software enabling interactive contribution by writers, artists, editors and publishers to contribute to, and work on, a common pool of multi-media content from differing locations and through a variety of interfaces, the input materials encompassing traditional elements of the publishing environment (text, still images) as well the elements necessary for true multi-media publishing (sound, full motion video) whereby users of the computer program will have the ability to deliver customized electronic publications to subscribers through a variety of media, including the World Wide Web, interactive and broadcast television and CD-ROM, and traditional high-quality print; the computer program including a full client/server application that provides a server based publishing engine with a set of client-based creation and management tools; the server software being supported on several platforms including "Intel" (under the Linux Operating System"); the client side providing a very deep, multi-function content development and management application that covers the full content publishing process as well as supporting multiple technology platforms and output distribution channels, and providing a full suite of tools for customizing the content to each delivery channel, as well as the technical facilities to distribute the date, the client side content creation and management tools functioning in any environment supporting the "Java" language from "Sun Microsystems" (including "Windows 95", "Macintosh Operating System" and "Unix Operating System") whereby the users of the computer program will have the ability to develop and implement a full content delivery system including content authoring/editing, editorial and publication control, service design, media management and service management
