Providing an advanced meter program in the City of Santa Clara using wireless communications technology enabling the utility company, Silicon Valley Power, to measure and read customers' electricity usage at its office and enabling Silicon Valley Power customers to access their homes' and offices' energy use information via the internet in order to monitor and control electricity usage, namely, remote electric meter reading and data analysis using a wireless communications system; design and development of comunications technology connecting electric advanced meters and their readings to the utility company and to the customer
