Identification system used in vineyards by viticulture technicians to determine the stress/health level of a grapevine which is comprised of measuring canopy temperature using an infrared thermometer, shoot length using a tape measure, visual observations of shoot tips and canopy color; Through these measurements and observations the technician is able to assign a numerical value used to produce a Stress Index Curve; This information measured throughout the growing season produces a Stress Index Curve which correlates vineyard growth patterns and wine quality
