Promoting Ireland as a location for research and development in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering; promoting Ireland as a leading location for science, technology, maths and engineering based industry; promoting and raising public awareness of the importance of science, technology, maths and engineering and research in the foregoing areas; business organization and administration of grant applications; business administration of peer review of research proposals; business administration services in the nature of organizing and administering grant schemes, and research programmes in respect of which grants have been made; business administration services in the nature of organising and administering research and educational programmes in the field of science, technology, maths and engineering; administrative services, namely, administration and management of research grants; business administration services, namely, management of grant funding for research programs in respect of which grants have been made; business administration services, namely, management of grant funding for the research and educational programs of others in the field of science, technology, maths and engineering

Providing grants, financial awards and financial sponsorship in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering; raising funds for research in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering; provision of finance and grant aid in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering; providing funding and investment in relation to research and development of others; providing financial assistance and financial aid in research development projects of others; providing financial grants to others in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering; assessing proposals for research projects for the purpose of making financial grants; providing funding for symposia, seminars and courses of instruction related to science, technology, maths and engineering subject matter, intellectual property and/or the importance of science, technology, maths and engineering generally

Education, namely, organizing educational events and seminars in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering; educational services, namely, assessing proposals for research projects and ongoing assessments and review of educational research projects; provision of training in the field of science, technology, maths and engineering; arranging and conducting workshops in respect of research techniques and in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering generally; symposia, seminars and courses of instruction related to scientific subject matter, intellectual property and/or the importance of science, technology, maths and engineering generally; publication of books, newspapers, magazines, pamphlets, periodicals and other printed matter, texts and databases in the fields of science, technology, maths and engineering; educational services, namely, providing incentives to people and organizations by issuing of awards and conducting award ceremonies to demonstrate excellence in the field of science, technology, maths and engineering; providing peer review of educational research proposals in the field of science, technology, maths and engineering; providing assessment of educational research projects in the field of science, technology, maths and engineering

Providing assistance and aid in the nature of expert advice and recommendations to Governmental and regulatory organisations in relation to research and development projects; providing peer review in the field of science, technology, maths and engineering research projects; providing a database of scientific, technological, maths and engineering information in the nature of descriptions of funded projects and reports of progress made on funded projects; providing a database containing information in the field of biotechnology and information and communications technology; providing ongoing review and assessments of science, technology, maths and engineering research projects
