permanent heart assist device utilizing intra arterial air pressure to assist the heart in its function, namely, blood circulating assist machinery and controls and components therefor; heart assist pumps and machinery, components and controls therefor; percutaneous access device consisting of a disk implantable beneath the skin and a collar protruding through the skin for use in transmitting fluid, air or electricity across the skin, as by a catheter and/or wires extending through the collar and components therefor; an implanted blood pump and components therefor; and an external drive unit serving as a pump actuator and controller and components therefor
