Painted Bins works with local schools and communities to display childrens' art on compost bins on public spaces to keep food waste from the landfill and greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Through its process, Painted Bins educates the public about waste diversion, beautifies local environments and creates environmental stewards. We do this by first having teachers educate the students about food waste and the importance of composting and then having the children create inspirational posters that are displayed in a local Painted Bins art show, which are then selected for installation upon compost bins that are placed in parks and public areas. The service is provided to local municipalities, state government agencies and schools.
