Listing of Services Osteopathic Heritage Foundations Mission Statement- To improve the health and quality of life in the community through education, research and service consistent with our osteopathic heritage The Osteopathic Heritage Foundations consist of three foundations that share the same mission and vision Although separately incorporated the Foundations speak with one voice The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation is designated as a public charity and is the sole member of the DH Foundation It retains control of restricted funds that were developed when the Foundation was a supporting organization of Doctors Hospital These funds are designated to provide support for certain programs and services at the hospital In addition, the Foundation supports but is not limited to, community health and quality of life issues primarily in central Ohio As a public charity, the Foundation is actively engaged in fund raising The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville was formed in 1998 and is a supporting organization of the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation This Foundation received the proceeds from the asset sale of Doctors Hospital of Nelsonville Its funding support is directed, but not limited to, community health and quality of life issues, primarily in southeastern Ohio The Foundation conducts fund raising activities to support its mission in this region of the state The DH Foundation was the sole member (controlling corporation) of Doctors Hospital before the asset sale and received the proceeds from the sale It is a supporting organization of the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Its funding priorities include, but are not limited to, osteopathic medical education and research, primarily in central and southeastern Ohio The DH Foundation also controls the assets of the former Osteopathic Hospitals Development Foundation as a restricted fund for projects that comply with the Foundations' mission
