NWSN NATIONAL WOMEN'S SHELTER NETWORK

Promoting public awareness of women, children and families experiencing homelessness; providing an online directory information service featuring information on women's and family shelters and safe haven programs, supportive services and resources; Charitable services, namely, promoting public awareness of the special needs of women and children experiencing homelessness, the intersections of gender based violence and homelessness, and the importance of providing a trauma informed safety net with deep protective factors for women and children experiencing homelessness by organizing and developing projects that aim to promote such public awareness; conduct gaps and needs surveys, organize focus groups and conduct site visits of women's and family shelters within the United States and issue a report of findings and recommendations related to the surveys, focus groups and site visits conducted

Charitable foundation services, namely, providing fundraising activities, funding, scholarships and/or financial assistance for women, children and familiesexperiencing or at risk of homelessness and the shelters andsafe haven programs that serve them

Education services, namely, providing workshops and seminars in the field of advancing trauma informed best practices, standards of care, programs and environments for women's and family shelters, to support front line teams serving homeless women and children, and to help build the organizational capacity of women's and family shelters and safe haven programs and distribution of educational materials in connection therewith to be delivered both in person and on demand via a website; Charitable services, namely, providing educational materials in the nature of a comprehensive resource library and guidelines to homeless shelters to improve the quality of their programs, services and organizational capacity, including the latest research, sample policies and procedures, highlight innovation, and increasing access to available resources

Providing a website featuring technology that enables users to access a specific network of women's and family shelters and safe haven programs, partners and allies serving women, children and families to create a community of providers together for unified action; Computer services, namely, creating an on-line virtual environment for registered users to share and implement evidence based best practices, innovation, research, organizational capacity building strategies, resource development and funding opportunities, training programs, and strategies for raising public awareness and communicating effectively with government leaders and community stakeholders, and advancing solutions to prevent and end homelessness
