An electrical connecting grid which includes internal sources of electricity and can stand alone or receive or dispatch power into a larger utility grid. It may include renewable power, turbines, fuel cells, etc in distributed generation format and multiple loads connected by power electronics which allow intelligent metering and load shedding. It may have the capacity to store power in order to dispatch into the service utility grid at an appropriate time. It is meant to refer in general to a municipal sized electrical grid, from .5MW to 50MW in peaking power, generally larger than a stand alone microgrid and generally smaller than a full sized utility grid
