METRO-CONNECT ARCHITECTURE

METRO-CONNECT ARCHITECTURE indicates the company's "Metro Connect Architecture" class of semiconductor products. Multiple chips operate together to support the functions required within a metro area network. The semiconductor devices provide solutions for a multitude of architechtures and protocols and will deliver data rates of 2.5 gigabits-per-second (Gbps) to 40.0 Gbps. The focus of the company's Metro Connect Architecture (MCA) is alleviating the bottlenecks and inefficiencies of the metro area network while enabling the convergence of voice and data traffic. The Metro-Connect Architecture provides a blend of Ethernet and SONET technologies. No single semiconductor products conveys this broad focus individually, but multiple products used together do. We use the Metro-Connect Architecture (MCA) to describe the semiconductor products as a group. The subcategories of the Metro-Connect Architecture are Optical Transport products, TDM Access products and Traffic Engineering products.
