trubelandco is a culturally-responsive technical education platform that champions diverse youth to disrupt society for the better. By integrating STEM education with civic innovation, trubel creates a pipeline of changemakers committed to improving their community using equitable data analytics, responsible technology, and inclusive design. We deliver Mapping Justice, a part-time, virtual course teaching high school youth how to design geospatial tools for social change. Our instruction on GIS (geographic information systems) paired with Race, Power, and Technology curricula is channeled into self-directed capstones, as students create digital apps utilizing geospatial analytics to tackle community-based challenges-previously, projects have ranged from quantifying transgender voter discrimination in key swing states to modeling global migration patterns sparked by climate change
