Laser assisted microwave plasma equipment in the nature of a spectroscopy apparatus used for testing the elemental emissions of the plasma light emitted from a sample material when ablated by a laser, the equipment being comprised of sample chambers for holding a sample material to be tested, lasers for ablating the sample material, microwave cavities for lengthening the plasma duration and increasing plasma amplitude, and optical fibers and lenses to image the plasma light into a spectrometer for emission characterization and analysis of the elemental composition of the sample material
