The trademark is used in training mental health and addictions treatment providers to help them better understand the impact families have in getting a loved one started in addictions treatment; The Invitational model of intervention stresses the importance of staying open and avoiding secrecy in the design of an intervention to get a resistant person started in addictions treatment; The trademark is being used to label a body of research we are currently conducting that substantiates the value and importance of working with families in the addictions engagement and treatment process
