environmental sciences including assessing potential environmental problems in proposed projects as well a devising solutions to problems in existing projects through field investigations, hydrological studies and air and water quality monitoring, detecting and analyzing hazardous materials, toxic wastes and other substances in air, water or soil samples, assisting individuals in securing regulatory permits, implementing environmentally sound programs and monitoring compliance of remediation projects; engineering and design including environmental and infrastructure engineering, including providing design services to commercial and municipal clients, designing handling, storage, treatment of disposal facilities for a wide variety of hazardous and domestic waste, designing municipal waste and storage facilities and landfills, industrial waste treatment facilities, mine and utility waste management facilities and underground storage tank evaluations, and infrastructure engineering and design of highways, tunnels, bridges, railroad and airport design as well as storm water management; energy including designing, implementing and evaluating energy conservation and demand projects, analyzing and licensing support, developing and implementing quality assurance programs and performing safety system functional inspections; providing support in policy, planning and programming, nuclear safety and risk assessments, physical security evaluations, and emergency and nuclear waste planning for domestic and international government agencies
