An apparatus that uses thermodynamic activation, pressure and shock waves to mobilize vapor and particles so that surfaces and interiors of objects may be sampled for particulates and vapors of substances, namely, explosives, drugs, hazardous chemical and biological residues and contaminants, toxins and pathogenic micro-organisms for screening purposes in the agricultural, food, transportation and pharmaceutical industries and by government agencies
