Coalition of New Collaborative Schools is a network of alternative high schools located on college campuses and operated by their local school districts These educational settings are designed to reengage high-potential, at-risk high school students who may have demonstrated success through the elementary and early middle grades but could not relate to the traditional school context as they moved into higher grades New Collaborative Schools are designed to support research on at-risk youth that will enhance preservice and in-service education programs and that will inform policy at the district, state, regional, and national levels The Coalition incorporates research and emerging technologies to encourage collaboration among educators, identify and disseminate principles of student engagement, contribute to the redesign and reengineering of schools, and determine the impact of technology upon student learning
