A Clean Tag is a tradable financial and regulatory instrument that represents the environmental attributes of electricity generated from designated municipal renewable energy sources and conserved through designated municipal energy efficiency projects; Renewable energy sources include, but are not limited to, wind, geothermal, solar thermal, photovoltaic cells and panels, and organic waste biomass; Energy efficiency projects include, but are not limited to, LED traffic signal upgrades, LED street lighting upgrades, and municipal green building projects
