Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc., has developed the BEST GUIDE DOGS¿, also known as the Balanced Education System for Training Guide Dogs¿ which has the following components-- * Kennel enrichment to provide exercise and stimulation for the dogs and puppies housed at the organization's campuses * Treadmill training to introduce dogs to working in-harness * Pattern training to assist dogs in understanding tasks * Counter-conditioning programs to alleviate fears and distractions * Advanced training program which includes, in addition to basic guidework, escalator training, intelligent disobedience concepts, etc. * Ergonomic considerations for staff
