A "CHANGE THAT CARES" CARE CARD IS NOT A GIFT, CREDIT, OR DEBIT CARD, AND IT IS NOT REDEEMABLE FOR CASH; IT CAN BE USED TO PAY FOR GOODS OR SERVICES. A CARE CARD DISPLAYS THE VALUE PAID FOR IT WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED. MERCHANTS WILL ONLY HONOR THIS CARD FOR THE AMOUNT THAT IT HAS BEEN ISSUED OR THE AMOUNT LEFT UNUSED ON THE CARD. WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR OF THE ISSUANCE OF THE CARE CARD, ANY UNUSED FUNDS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO "CHANGE THAT CARES," A CHARITABLE, NON-PROFIT CORPORATION WHERE EVERY SINGLE PENNY COLLECTED WILL BE DIRECTED TO CANCER AND HIV RESEARCH. A CARE CARD HOLDER HAS THE OPTION TO "OPT OUT" OF THE DISTRIBUTION TO "CHANGE THAT CARES" AFTER THE 1-YEAR TERM (AND ATTAIN THE RIGHT TO EXTEND THE EXPIRATION DATE TO 5 YEARS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE).
