Telecommunications devices, namely, IP network access devices in the nature of micro-gateway apparatus that convert voice signals into data packets, format the data packets for transmission over an IP network, receive data packets from an IP network and convert the data packets into voice signals, used in conjunction with a service provider network to establish voice communications with at least two parties wherein at least a portion of the communication is transported over an IP network.
